On Wednesday 6 May 2009, after breakfast, all students and teachers of the four participating schools (South Harringay Junior School, London, Crowland Primary School, London, Nydala barn och ungdom, Sweden and College de Carbon-Blanc, France) headed to Halil Vedat Firath Ilkogretim Okulu, Turkey, and were amazed by the welcome.
Temel Gulence, the headteacher of Halil Vedat Firath Ilkogretim Okulu welcomed everyone and gave a background to the school, eagerly listened to by the students.
The visiting students were then matched with their Turkish student buddy who looked after them all throughout their stay.
After a refreshing Turkish tea, the teachers explored the art display about democracy.
Thereafter the visiting teachers were shown around the school, visiting and meeting a number of classes.
