Our day 3 (7 May 2009) started with breakfast in the hotel and then the school’s mini bus picked us up from the hotel and we made our way to the school.
As the school hall was been used, the school assembly took place in the playground. When we arrived from our hotel, the assembly was coming to an end and the students made their way back to their classrooms.

The Turkish students gave a presentation on their progress so far on this project. This was followed by presentations from Crowland Primary School and South Harringay Junior School. The students who had consulted their fellow colleagues brought their collective ideas and explained them to the audience. The English students answered questions raised by the other participating schools.

The Crowland Primary School showed how their students are kept entertained in the playground. Two students hold on to a long rope and a third one jumps while the rope is moved in a circular direction.

This was followed by a game and a song, involving two students clapping their hands to the rhythm of the song.

Having seen the Crowland student’s demonstration, the Turkish students then joined in.

The next game brought lots of cheers and energy to both the English and the Turkish students. The game uses the principals of squash. However in this case instead of a squash ball, Crowland Primary School came up with an idea of using a football and the game is played outside. The game is between two players. The first student hits the ball towards the wall and when it bounces back, with only one bounce on the floor the other player has to hit it towards the wall. The one who misses the wall, or lets the ball bounces more than once is the loser.

The demonstration by two Crowland’s students attracted number of girls, who seemed to enjoy watching them play.

After the demonstration, the Turkish students had a go and were cheered by their fellow colleagues.
